Have you ever had a blood test? A urinalysis? Like in human medicine, clinical pathology is very important for veterinary patients. Clinical pathology involves evaluation of blood, fluids or body tissues. We can use clinical pathology for both annual health checks and aiding diagnosis in our sick patients.

Maleny Vet Services’ clinic is well-equipped with in-house blood machines, faecal analysis, urinalysis and a microscope. This means we can usually get results within the hour!

Some more specialised tests may need to be performed by an external veterinary laboratory. These can include advanced blood tests, hormonal profiles, histopathology and more. As these are sent to external laboratories it may take up to 14 days to receive results, depending on the nature of the test being performed.

We are open seven days a week so if you have any questions, please give us a call on 5494 3622 or book online!

This is Schultz. Having grown-up in a vet practice, Shultz can be a bit of a know-it-all regarding all things animal (and hooman too, in his opinion). But instead of shaming him for his bad attitude, we’ve decided to harness his wisdom and share his knowledge for the benefit of all critterkind. Subscribe here for regular updates from Schultz, the smarty-(no)pants cat.
